Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 27, 2026
Numeliq is a math-tutoring app for children in grades 5–7, and a product of OrchaHub. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. Because Numeliq is used by children under a parent's or guardian's supervision, we keep what we collect to what's needed to tutor a student and keep them safe.
Pilot notice. Numeliq is currently a small, invitation-only pilot arranged directly with families. A parent or guardian sets up the account and each child's profile and stays in control of them.
Who we are
Numeliq is operated by OrchaHub. If you have any questions about this policy or your data, contact us at hello@orchahub.com.
Information we collect
Account information (the parent)
When a parent signs in with Apple, we receive a name and email address (which may be Apple's private-relay address if you choose to hide your email). This identifies the family account.
Child profiles
The parent creates a profile for each child with a first name and grade level. We do not ask for a child's last name, address, phone number, or photo.
Learning activity
- The math questions and messages a child sends to the tutor (Nova).
- Photos of handwritten work the child chooses to upload for review, and drawings made on the in-app scratchpad.
- Answers given, hints shown, quizzes and worksheets completed, and the progress and mastery we derive from them.
- In-app game state such as points, gems, and rewards.
Safety signals
To help keep children safe, messages are automatically screened for indications of self-harm, abuse, or crisis. When something is detected, the app immediately shows age-appropriate help resources (such as the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline and Childhelp). On family accounts, we also notify the parent and store a short excerpt of the child's message on the parent's own account area so the parent has context to check in. This excerpt is kept for the parent, not used for any other purpose.
Device & technical information
If enabled, a push-notification token so we can send a parent the safety alert above; app version and basic device/operating-system information; and standard log data (such as timestamps and error reports) used to operate and troubleshoot the service.
How we use information
- To provide tutoring and check the correctness of math answers.
- To personalize practice and track each child's progress.
- To power the parent dashboard and, when relevant, parent safety notifications.
- To keep children safe (the screening described above).
- To operate, secure, maintain, and improve the app.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use children's information to show advertising or build advertising profiles.
How tutoring is generated (AI)
Numeliq's tutor replies are generated with the help of a third-party AI provider (Anthropic, maker of Claude). To produce a response, the child's message and any uploaded work photo are sent to that provider for processing. Computed math answers are additionally checked by a symbolic-math verifier before they're shown, so the app doesn't rely on the AI alone for correctness. Our providers process this data on our behalf and under their own commitments; they are not permitted to use it to train general-purpose models where that option is available to us.
How we share information
We share information only with service providers that help us run Numeliq, including:
- Amazon Web Services — hosting, storage, and databases.
- Anthropic — generating tutoring responses (see above).
- Apple — Sign in with Apple and push notifications.
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the safety, rights, or property of a child, our users, or the public.
Children's privacy
Numeliq is intended for children used under the supervision of a parent or guardian, who creates and controls the account and each child profile. A parent can review the information associated with their child, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it at any time by contacting hello@orchahub.com. We collect only the information needed to provide tutoring and keep the child safe, and we do not condition a child's participation on providing more than that.
Data retention & your choices
We keep account and learning information while the family account is active so a child's progress carries over. A parent may request a copy or deletion of their family's data, or close the account, by emailing us. When an account is deleted, we remove or de-identify the associated personal information, except where we must keep something to meet a legal obligation.
Security
We protect information with measures appropriate to its sensitivity, including encryption in transit and access controls on our systems. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to safeguard the data in our care.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Numeliq grows. When we do, we'll revise the date at the top of this page, and we'll provide additional notice if the changes are significant.
